StarOffice 8.0 beta released

The new version of the software features a new database engine, support for the OpenDocument format of the Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards (OASIS), and better support for Microsoft Office documents, including support for passwords on Word and Excel files and better importing of Microsoft Office data."
